Requirements

Candidates should possess a high school diploma or technical degree and at least 4 years of field service experience, with a preference for a Bachelor’s degree in sciences. They should have at least 2 years of hands-on experience as a Service Engineer or working with analytical instrumentation, specifically in Chromatography. Strong communication skills, the ability to build customer relationships, and prioritization of service requests are essential, along with documentation skills. Candidates must be willing to travel overnight up to 10%, have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record, and be able to lift 50 lbs with assistance and carry 25-30 lbs daily.

Responsibilities

As an Onsite Field Service Engineer, the primary responsibility is to coordinate all aspects of field service support and customer relationships, providing comprehensive services on benchtop laboratory instrumentation systems, including installation, repairs, and preventive maintenance. This includes working with Chromatography instruments such as Cytiva AKTA FPLC, Agilent HPLC, Thermo HPLC/UPLC, and Waters HPLC/UPLC, as well as Thermo Corona CADCell Counters and Tabletop instruments. The role involves collaborating with ULS teams and Sales, using customer management software, planning and managing time for services and corrective actions, inspecting malfunctioning products, recommending repairs or replacements, coordinating problem resolution, analyzing technical issues, providing solutions, serving as a communication link between customers and the company, and conducting training on equipment operations for team members and customers. The position also requires performing other duties as assigned.
