Requirements

  • Full-time availability, primarily days with possible weekends/evenings/holidays
  • Knowledge of age-specific factors for patients from infant through geriatrics
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Eligible for sign-on bonus (new grads up to $15,000; 2+ years experience up to $20,000)
  • Able to work in a variety of areas including acute care, TCU/LTC, swing bed, pediatrics, outpatient adult

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements individualized treatment programs for patients needing services
  • Evaluates assigned patients, gathering data from patient records, interviews, observations, and team members
  • Uses selected activities and/or tasks to promote and maintain health, and to achieve treatment goals
  • Establishes and modifies intervention goals and strategies based on ongoing evaluations
  • Provides direct therapy services to patients using various functional settings and strategies
  • Plans therapy within the patient’s physical, emotional, and intellectual capabilities, coordinated with rehabilitation, medical, and nursing care plans
  • Prepares documentation including evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress notes, and reports
  • Communicates effectively with patient, family, physician, and interdisciplinary team members regarding status, progress, and needs
  • Establishes rapport and works cooperatively with interdisciplinary team members (including family/physician)
  • Enhances professional growth through educational programs, literature, in-services, workshops; shares knowledge with co-workers
  • Evaluates and monitors clinical internships for students
  • Participates in program development of the department
  • Interviews, hires, develops, trains, and retains employees; plans, assigns, and leads work; appraises performance; rewards and coaches employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems
