Candidates must possess a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance and have 10 years of combined work history and education, equivalent to a Doctorate with 3 years of experience, a Master's with 4 years, or a Bachelor's with 7 years. Expertise in Micro Focus/Open Text Network Operations Management (NOM) and modern Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Microsoft Windows operating systems is required. Strong background in system development lifecycles, including requirements and control gates, and associated intelligence community and DoD engineering lifecycles is necessary. Experience with Juniper Paragon Automation, strong Unix/Linux system knowledge, 5+ years of NOM development experience, intermediate or higher knowledge of Container technology (Kubernetes), intermediate or higher knowledge of Python or Perl, extended knowledge of API design (JSON, REST, etc.), and a solid understanding of Layer 1-4 fundamental protocols are also required. Knowledge of standard networking monitoring technologies (SNMP, *Flow, etc.), network device configuration and management, Unit Test framework, and Agile & Scrum Methodologies are a plus.
The NMS Designer will engineer and support Network Operations Management and Juniper Paragon common service requirements for mission-critical network operations. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining NOM configurations based on customer requirements, designing, implementing, testing, and supporting NOM applications, and documenting design ideas. The role involves participating in requirement gathering sessions, collaborating on application architecture design and decision-making, configuring and tuning application servers, and participating in production troubleshooting and issue correction. The designer will also be responsible for production issues-remediation, solving complex production issues, predicting emerging customer needs, and developing innovative solutions. Additionally, the role requires remaining a strong team player, working with diverse software and hardware development and operations teams, and collaborating with engineering managers for day-to-day team schedules and work assignments.
