This role is within the Managed Services Department, focusing on ensuring the availability and performance of customer MySQL databases. Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience working with Relational Databases.
  • Operating System: Understanding of Linux OS basics.
  • Shell Usage: Proficient in shell usage (bash), including commands such as less, nano, vim, grep, cd, df, top, ls, etc.
  • SSH: Ability to use SSH to connect to remote systems with password and public/private keys.
  • Database Concepts: Understanding of concepts like IO, load, CPU, RAM, and disk usage.
  • Automation: Familiar with automation concepts to speed up workflows.
  • InnoDB Internals: Basic knowledge of InnoDB internals.
  • Performance Schema: Basic knowledge of Performance Schema.
  • Query Optimization: Ability to optimize queries.
  • Percona Toolkit: Experience with tools from the Percona Toolkit or similar.
  • Replication: Deep understanding of replication and replication models, including GTID.
  • HA Solutions: Knowledge of high availability (HA) solutions and strategies.
  • Replication Technologies: Familiar with virtually synchronous replication technologies like PXC and InnoDB Group Replication.
  • Backup Solutions: Knowledge of backup solutions and strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues related to DB systems availability and performance.
  • Develop relationships with customers, comprehend and fulfill their needs, and maintain their satisfaction through regular communication and engagement.
  • Perform technical work that requires planning and scheduling to ensure the best possible solution is delivered on time.
  • React on incidents and provide solutions aiming at maintained environments’ improvements.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment responsible for companies’ most critical systems.
  • Contribute to improving operational processes.
