Requirements
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, and have at least 5 years of experience as a NoSQL DBA, with a strong focus on MongoDB. Expertise in MongoDB Atlas is essential, along with experience in database administration, deployment, configuration, patching, upgrades, scaling, and high availability. A solid understanding of data modeling, sharding strategies, and indexing plans for performance optimization is required, as well as experience in backup and disaster recovery procedures. Familiarity with cloud systems like AWS and experience in optimizing and deploying databases within cloud environments is also necessary.
Responsibilities
As a Senior NoSQL DBA, you will administer and manage MongoDB Atlas clusters, designing and implementing data models, sharding strategies, and indexing plans for performance optimization. You will monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues, developing and maintaining backup and disaster recovery procedures, and ensuring compliance with RTO/RPO requirements. You will provide guidance and support to development teams on query optimization and schema design, take lead in the database deployment process, assist DevOps during code deployments, and establish and enforce database standards. Additionally, you will assist in capacity planning and cost optimization, particularly within cloud-based environments, and provide mentorship to other team members.
