Requirements

Candidates should possess 5+ years of experience as a production support SQL Server DBA, preferably in an AWS or GCP environment, or in other cloud environments, with proficiency in TSQL, DML, DDL, and SSMS. They must demonstrate strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, including the ability to interpret query plans and understand indexes and statistics, and be able to respond to calls within the SLA when on-call. Furthermore, candidates should be familiar with source control systems such as Git, TFS, or SVN, and have a passion for embracing and learning new technologies, along with experience with High Availability techniques. Experience working with government (Medicaid, Medicare) security and government policies such as ISPE, ARS, and GRC is also required.

Responsibilities

The Database Administrator will provide day-to-day database support for .NET (LINQ/Entity Framework) applications using SQL Server running primarily on AWS RDS, monitoring performance opportunities and providing feedback to developers. They will support the QA and dev teams with backups/restores of databases and instance snapshots, manage assigned tasks within the Jira ticket system, provision access to users, participate in weekly production code releases and hot fixes, manage replication jobs in CloudBasic, review Git pull requests related to data model, query, or schema changes, respond to ad hoc reporting requests, apply patches and updates, assist auditors to respond to internal and external audit requests, and provide cross-functional communication and support to engineering and product teams.
