Propel is dedicated to simplifying access to government benefits for low-income Americans. Our app, utilized by over 5 million families monthly, assists users in managing financial difficulties and saving money. We are expanding our services into healthcare, with a specific focus on Medicare and Medicaid.

This role will support approximately 1 million Medicare-eligible users, many of whom also qualify for Medicaid. You will be instrumental in developing the first app-based brokerage aimed at assisting "duals" (individuals eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid) in enrolling in healthcare plans. As a Medicare Advisor, you will act as a knowledgeable resource, guiding users in comparing Medicare plans, enrolling with confidence, and optimizing their healthcare benefits. You will also work closely with our product team to enhance our user support for navigating government healthcare. This position reports to the General Manager of Healthcare.

Ideal Candidate Profile: We seek an individual who is a rapid learner, adaptable to change, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate possesses strong problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to delve deeply into challenges.

Impact Areas:

  • Respond to user inquiries about Traditional Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans, and Medicaid, offering expert guidance and support primarily through in-app chat and secondarily via phone.
  • Adopt a user-centric approach, prioritizing user needs and exceeding service expectations.
  • Perform detailed comparisons of Medicare Advantage plans, ensuring users understand their healthcare coverage options based on individual needs.
  • Educate users on eligibility criteria, enrollment procedures, and Medicare compliance to help them navigate complex healthcare regulations.
  • Accurately process enrollment applications, providing users with essential information on deadlines and ongoing actions required to maintain their coverage.
  • Maintain relationships with multiple insurance carriers and ensure compliance with licensing requirements across various states.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to improve app functionality, contributing insights derived from user interactions and enrollment experiences.
  • Provide constructive feedback to enhance both user and agent experiences within the application workflow.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to assist with tasks outside of Medicare advisory as needed, potentially supporting the New Ventures team with broader benefits navigation and general app customer experience.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and a keen interest in developing expertise in Medicare/Medicaid nationwide.
  • Capacity to manage complex user inquiries and multitask effectively, including researching health plans and concepts while interacting with users.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility with users through active listening, deep knowledge in advisory areas, and confident consultations.
  • Possession of, or willingness to obtain, an active broker/agent license.
