Responsibilities

The Medical Billing Associate will answer inbound patient calls, manage copay collections, and communicate with other departments regarding patient needs. Responsibilities include creating partner cases, posting late cancels, reviewing and delegating patient electronic communications, and maintaining billing ledgers. The associate will also assist with larger projects, learn the basics of insurance billing (PPOs, HMOs, Medicare, Workers Comp), and maintain knowledge of medical billing practices. Key duties involve queue-based work such as authorizations and insurance payment posting, achieving daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals for patient payments and documentation, and performing ad hoc tasks as directed by management.
