Knowledge of shipping department operations, yard management, safety, inventory management, KPIs, budgeting, and associate development
Proficiency in tools such as PKMS, Pyramid, Garpac, SketchForce, iWarehouse, and other applications for daily processing
Ability to manage staffing to match production needs and ensure inventory movement at planned rates and hours
Skills in monitoring and analyzing KPIs including OB planned volume, accuracy, resource utilization, cycle times, OTIF, volume, rate, hours plan to actual, and throughput
Experience in budget management (planned to actual, direct and indirect vCPU)
Capability to develop department SOPs, work instructions, and training programs
Ability to analyze, review, and dispute chargeback violations related to shipping processes
Strong fiscal and ethical standards
Experience in coaching, training, and developing employees through informal and formal programs
Partnership skills with Human Resources for training resources and employee relations

Contribute to operational excellence by improving systems, processes, and policies to support organizational goals
Execute production plans to optimize turnaround time and expedite merchandise accurately and cost-effectively
Create long-term planning, including budget development to increase department effectiveness and efficiency
Oversee inbound receipt and accurate inventory location to maintain protocols and best practices
Manage all aspects of financial, operational, people, process, and service objectives to drive continuous improvement and reduce cost-to-serve
Participate in strategic and business process improvement projects for the distribution network
Perform daily tasks for outbound schedule, including prepping personnel, planning loads, and assisting as needed
Maintain efficient flow, cost-effectiveness, and productivity in the department
Monitor department budget and yard management
Ensure teams are trained and use required tools properly
Maintain controllable flow to other departments, ensuring timely and accurate inventory receipt, put-away, pulling, and transport
Drive continuous improvement in communication between shipping and other departments
Collaborate on cross-training programs for flexible operations leadership
Evaluate and recommend improvements to work methods, procedures, controls, staffing, and warehouse layout
Work with vendors to ensure supplies availability
