Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with a minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, specifically in compute software engineering. Strong leadership and management skills are required, including experience managing teams of individual contributors and supervisors. Experience with systems software development, such as operating systems, compilers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools, is essential.

Responsibilities

The Manager Compute Software Engineering will provide direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors involved in designing and developing new products, enhancements, and updates for systems software. They will manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring alignment with program and organizational roadmaps. The role involves coordinating projects, communicating project status, escalating issues, and managing relationships with development partners. Additionally, the manager will oversee the development and support of direct staff members, including recruitment and performance management.
