Requirements

Strong leadership and coaching skills to develop a highly skilled maintenance team, identify skill gaps, and build talent pipelines
Expertise in Sonoco Performance System (SPS), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Maintenance Excellence processes
Knowledge of performance management, including hiring, evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions
Proficiency in troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implementing countermeasures for mechanical, electrical, and conveyance issues, ensuring compliance with codes and standards
Ability to foster collaboration between production and maintenance teams
Experience supporting "Zero-Loss" initiatives and improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Skills in implementing proactive maintenance strategies (preventive, predictive) and performance monitoring
Oversight capability for facility infrastructure (HVAC, compressed air, utilities), building/grounds upkeep, spare parts inventory, procurement, and service contracts
Ability to collaborate with engineering teams, leverage best practices, and execute capital projects
Competence in establishing structured work management processes (planning, scheduling, execution, closing)

Responsibilities

Champion the Maintenance Excellence (ME) process and serve as Maintenance Excellence Leader for the Plant SPS (TPM) Steering Team
Provide leadership to develop a highly skilled and effective maintenance team, closing skill gaps and establishing advancement pathways
Oversee performance management, including hiring, evaluations, coaching, corrective actions, and ensuring team has necessary tools, training, and environment
Foster an engaged, collaborative work environment with high standards of housekeeping, craftsmanship, and equipment reliability
Hold team members accountable to standards, reinforcing positive behaviors and addressing performance issues
Lead troubleshooting, RCA, and countermeasures for complex equipment issues
Develop collaborative culture between production and maintenance to resolve equipment conditions impacting safety, quality, or productivity
Support “Zero-Loss” initiative by targeting major losses, involving operators, improving maintenance efficiency, providing training, and participating in early equipment management
Implement maintenance strategy utilizing proactive maintenance and performance monitoring for critical equipment
Oversee operation and maintenance of facility infrastructure, systems, building, and grounds
Lead and coordinate maintenance with internal teams and contractors, manage spare parts inventory, procurement, and service contracts
Collaborate with division engineering and technical resources on best practices and capital projects; personally involved in technical action plans and verifying corrective actions
Establish and oversee structured work management process, including identifying, documenting, planning, scheduling, executing, and closing maintenance activities
