M&A Business Development Senior Associate - Financial Services (Europe)

Position Overview

Vencora is seeking a driven and results-oriented M&A Business Development Senior Associate to focus on the Financial Services vertical in Europe (specifically Germany and UK). This role is responsible for representing the front-end of Vencora's acquisition activities by establishing, building, and nurturing relationships with CEOs and owners of global companies. Vencora's strategy is to build a strong portfolio of specialized vertical market technology businesses, operating in a decentralized manner with no intention of exiting investments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting:
    • Creatively identify leads for vertical market software businesses that meet Vencora's strategic criteria and specific metrics.
    • Maintain and build a proprietary database of industry contacts.
    • Develop and conduct prospecting campaigns through digital media, outbound cold calling, email sequences, in-person meetings, and industry events.
  • Relationship Building:
    • Consistently make direct outreach to business owners and executives.
    • Confidently navigate gatekeepers and initiate compelling conversations.
    • Demonstrate creativity, persistence, and credibility in reaching out to Owners, Operators, and C-Suite leadership.
  • Opportunity Qualification:
    • Gather target company information and qualify opportunities for potential acquisition.
    • Present high-potential opportunities to the internal M&A team.
    • Support the progression of opportunities to NDA or deeper evaluation stages.
  • Travel:
    • Travel to attend tradeshows, prospecting trips, and in-person meetings as needed (up to 20%).

Requirements

  • Skills & Experience:
    • Fluency in English and German is necessary.
    • Excellent academic performance in an undergraduate business degree; a Master’s degree from a top-tier school is a plus.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Demonstrated success with cold calling and outbound prospecting; confidence in initiating conversations with founders and C-level executives and navigating gatekeepers.
    • 4+ years of experience in a business development, lead generation, or outbound sales role, ideally in a B2B or M&A environment.
    • Ability to manage a pipeline of leads and consistently exceed outreach and engagement targets.
    • Confident in presenting to business owners and executive-level stakeholders.
    • Strong analytical skills and sound business judgment.
    • Experience in M&A, software, or fintech is considered an asset.
    • Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
