Requirements

  • 7-9 years of relevant professional experience in venture capital, corporate development, or corporate venture capital
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as project and time management
  • Experience structuring deals, conducting due diligence, and negotiating term sheets
  • Solid financial modeling and forecasting skills, with the ability to communicate complex business issues to leadership at varying levels
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a matrixed organization, navigating ambiguity and collaborating across teams and functions
  • Experience working with senior executives across various geographies and functions
  • High level of self-drive, proactivity, and ownership mentality
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including drug screening
  • Background in life sciences, diagnostics, or pharma services with deep industry knowledge and proven ability to complete high-value deals (strongly valued)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to assess external landscape and potential investment opportunities
  • Develop reports, presentations, and thought leadership to communicate investment trends and strategic insights to internal partners
  • Work cross-functionally with internal business units to align investments with Thermo Fisher’s technology, product, and commercial strategies
  • Support due diligence efforts, transaction structuring, financial modeling, and prepare transaction recommendations for executive leadership
  • Ensure projects and workstreams meet scope, timelines, etc
  • Effectively drive communication and progress messaging to key partners
  • Support portfolio management, investment tracking, and return analyses
  • Drive investment sourcing, assessment, modeling, and value creation
  • Evaluate emerging companies and structure investment opportunities
  • Support strategic collaborations that enhance Thermo Fisher’s long-term growth
