Logistics Account Manager

Position Overview

The Logistics Account Manager is responsible for ensuring the company can provide truckload coverage for customer-awarded freight while also securing additional opportunities. This position is critical to maintaining a competitive edge and preserving the overall integrity of company services by focusing on the growth and retention of dedicated opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the single point of contact for the assigned customer base, building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including analyst teams, to balance capacity and freight.
  • Solicit additional freight opportunities to minimize empty miles.
  • Research and resolve service issues daily.
  • Track and trace shipments, ensuring a superior service record with on-time performance of 95% or better.
  • Relay excess load availability to Brokerage and Rail divisions.
  • Review EDI data for accuracy before releasing verifications to the customer.
  • Provide close oversight of all internal activities impacting service obligations.
  • Maintain key carrier performance indicators.
  • Manage all customer requests, including last-minute changes to supply chain delivery timelines.
  • Handle bookings and resolve issues related to delayed pickup/delivery, billing, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or transportation operations.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel functions.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of inbound/outbound email and understand capacity and network dynamics.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience servicing multi-million-dollar accounts and supporting new and existing sales opportunities.
  • Expertise in specific KPI contract details per client and awards.
  • Familiarity with the AS/400 operating system.
