Requirements

Candidates must possess exceptional instructional design experience specifically within Canvas LMS, supported by a strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in designing and building eLearning experiences using graphic design assets within Canvas for web and mobile platforms. A broad background in creating engaging digital content, applying instructional design best practices, and incorporating learning/edtech theories is required. Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 Accessibility Guidelines, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and copyright principles is essential, along with skills in advanced graphic design software (Illustrator, Photoshop, Google Draw, etc.) and basic HTML. Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent active listening, and organizational abilities are also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Instructional Designer will create an unparalleled customer experience by consulting and collaborating with client-based institutional leadership teams to design and build world-class online learning experiences within Canvas LMS, Canvas Credentials, Mastery Connect, and/or Elevate Standards Alignment. They will design, curate, create, revise, align, and structure content, activities, and assessments, leveraging graphic design software to create original visual assets, and incorporating HTML skills and the Rich Content Editor to ensure WCAG 2.1 AA standards are met. This role involves working with instructors, SMEs, and curriculum writers to develop engaging online learning experiences, incorporating best practices and UDL Guidelines, and delivering onsite or remote workshops as needed. The Instructional Designer will also build and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, communicate regarding course design elements and objectives, and coordinate multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
