A UK Government Security Check (SC) clearance is required, or the ability to obtain it after living in the UK for a minimum of 5 years. At least 12 months of Central Government experience within the last 5 years is strongly preferred. Candidates must have extensive experience in designing and delivering enterprise-scale platforms and managed services, particularly bespoke software solutions in streaming and cloud-native environments. They should also have experience solving enterprise data and analytics problems using technology, hands-on public cloud experience (AWS/Azure/Google) with a DevOps-centric approach, and experience working in sensitive data environments. Skills in designing distributed, event-driven systems, platform and application development, and recent design of services on AWS, Azure, GCP, or hybrid environments are necessary. Strong knowledge of agile development and modern CI/CD approaches, understanding of security design integration into solution design, and client-facing ability to simplify complex designs are also required.
The Lead Solution Architect will research and develop high-level and detailed solution designs, monitor technical deliverables against designs, and manage design divergences. They will contribute to technical change requests, maintain and monitor solutions against non-functional requirements, design principles, and patterns. Responsibilities include supporting solution option analysis, providing architectural recommendations, maintaining the As-Is design against the build, capturing the technology stack, and mapping it to the architecture. The role also involves closely collaborating with and guiding DevOps and application development teams.
