Requirements

Candidates must possess a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or an equivalent field, with 7 to 10 years of professional experience in backend software solutions. A minimum of 2 years in a technical leadership role, overseeing engineering teams and driving technical decisions, is required. Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and backend systems architecture, along with experience designing and implementing highly scalable web applications, is essential. Proven track record deploying and maintaining applications on AWS, with strong familiarity in services like Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, RDS, API Gateway, and CloudFormation, is necessary. Extensive experience building RESTful APIs and designing scalable microservices is also required, as well as a strong command over CI/CD practices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and DevOps tools. Understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and messaging platforms like Kafka or RabbitMQ is needed. Exceptional ability to mentor and guide engineers, experience leading agile teams, defining technical roadmaps, and communicating technical ideas clearly are crucial leadership skills.

Responsibilities

The Lead Software Engineer will architect scalable backend systems and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS. They will guide and mentor engineering teams, advocate for best practices in coding, testing, and continuous delivery, and spearhead the design of robust RESTful APIs for integrations. Responsibilities include overseeing the deployment of services on AWS, ensuring optimal use of cloud resources, continuously evaluating and improving system performance, and partnering with Product Managers and other leaders to define technical roadmaps and align with business goals. The role also involves ensuring solutions adhere to industry best practices for security, availability, and reliability, and staying ahead of emerging technologies to foster modernization and learning within the team.
