Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years of experience as a developer. A UK Government Security Check (SC) clearance is required, or the ability to obtain one with a minimum of 5 years of living and working in the UK. Proficiency in Java programming, including Spring Boot, is essential, along with experience using Kafka or a similar platform, Scala and Spark, and integrating with backing services such as PostgreSQL, Redis, or S3.

Responsibilities

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will assist in the development of backend services for a government client, involving designing, developing, documenting, and deploying services focused on high availability, low latency, and scalability. You will participate in user story elaboration and estimation, build frequent small releases, collaborate with other engineers on feature teams, and maintain operational responsibility for owned services. Additionally, you will design and develop new or enhanced features to meet business requirements.
