Bachelor’s degree in engineering required (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Biomedical or Packaging)
A minimum of 5+ years of experience working in manufacturing
A minimum of 2+ years leading collaborations with others (project management, operations leadership)
Experience with organizational level coaching and growing of capability in other engineers, engaging and energizing team members, and steering long term direction
Strong analytical, operational, and interpersonal aptitude
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written with an ability to recognize and appraise seriousness and urgency of issues as they relate to department activities
Responsibilities
Develops and implements engineering designs specific to coffee machinery that will improve efficiencies, increase capacity, and reduce costs
Partner with Technicians, Managers, and Vendors to build consensus and engagement as project team leader on complex projects and initiatives. Take general ownership for overall, final performance of project
Leverage data and education with empathy to engage project teams and project constituents. Volunteers for in-field, hands-on support of work in the plant
Utilize knowledge of core Coffee CPG processes to develop data mapping tools and gaps in support of future Machine Learning applications. Gather valuable input from operations technicians and managers to build a better project success
Leverage continuous improvement tools, value stream mapping, and problem-solving tools to eliminate root causes, improve performance, and drive waste reduction
Support the automation landscape by understanding current operations state and helping drive targeted improvements
Apply logic in problem-solving and analysis of alternatives to assess the financial and operational impact of business initiatives. Assess critical information to make effective decisions or recommendations
Seek “Best Value” solutions balancing short term needs of the plant with posturing for long term success in a rapidly evolving technology landscape
Engage new and existing vendors to investigate, test, and validate new technology and equipment
Drive decision making with peers in project teams including R&D, QA, HS&E, Engineering, Operations, and other corporate leaders
Develop self – stay current with industry for implementing automation and other new technologies in production areas
Develop others – provide education to evolve the workforce skillset to manage, maintain, and improve the new technology
Support the Education and Training teams to engage and up-skill current employees for our evolving work environment
Lead plant projects, establish and maintain standards, engage proactively with plant employees for operations technologies, and build the long-term roadmap to new technology adoption
Function as an expert for AI technologies and applications, and stay current on emerging operational technologies
Foster a culture of learning and mutual respect by being a key leader, mentor, and hands-on coach in the plant technical community
