Candidates must have 10+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, with a proven track record of successful implementation of scalable network infrastructures. Proficiency in Cisco networking (routers, switches, and firewalls), Cisco Umbrella for cloud security solutions, and Cisco ISE for network access control is required. Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, and ACLs, along with familiarity with network security principles and best practices, is essential. The ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and provide root cause analysis, coupled with strong documentation and communication skills, is necessary. Experience with AWS networking (VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect) and network automation using Python, Ansible, or Terraform are preferred. A Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or MIS is preferred but not required. Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or AWS Advanced Networking are a bonus.
The Senior Network Engineer will act as a technical resource for multiple technologies, possessing vast knowledge of supported technologies to improve network effectiveness, efficiency, and resilience. They will demonstrate a strong understanding of current and future network technology architecture, support long-term business strategies, and provide guidance and training to the IT community. Responsibilities include analyzing cross-technology/platform issues, leading the evaluation of new networking technologies, and proposing technology investments with thorough technical analysis and business cases. The role involves establishing systems to monitor compliance with architectural standards, adopting and communicating new networking concepts, and addressing problems with unique or broad implications for the IT infrastructure. This includes analyzing systems and processes end-to-end, assessing data travel and usage from multiple perspectives, and analyzing challenging cross-technology and cross-platform issues. The engineer will leverage opportunities, make strategic decisions impacting cost, quality, and speed, mentor and develop network engineering talent, and analyze complex business and competitive issues to discern their implications for the infrastructure. They will develop sophisticated technology plans requiring the integration of multiple technologies and be a key decision-maker regarding the technical feasibility of complex solutions.
