Requirements

Candidates must have 4+ years of experience in network operations, infrastructure engineering, or a similar role supporting large-scale distributed systems. Strong hands-on experience with load balancers (e.g., F5, NGINX), routing/switching (e.g., Juniper, Cisco), and security devices is required. Due to federal requirements, only US citizens, US naturalized citizens, or US Permanent Residents holding a green card will be considered. Passing a ServiceNow background screening, USFedPASS, including a credit check, criminal/misdemeanor check, and drug test is mandatory for employment.

Responsibilities

The Senior Network Operations Engineer will operate and maintain ServiceNow’s global cloud network infrastructure, including backbone routing, TOR switching, VPN services, and ADC systems. They will troubleshoot and resolve network issues, participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, and maintain software-defined, declarative infrastructure at scale using automation tools like Ansible and GitLab. Responsibilities also include performing software upgrades, version control, security patching, proactively analyzing network metrics to prevent outages, and supporting network operations in private and hybrid multi-cloud environments. The role involves partnering with the SRE team to improve operational processes, reviewing planned changes, creating documentation, providing feedback to architects, collaborating with peer teams, evaluating new tools, and driving automation for rapid deployment and updates.
