Position Overview: The IS Application Specialist serves as the primary IS liaison to business areas, ensuring that all IS Application Service needs are met or exceeded. This role is responsible for understanding and documenting business needs, recommending appropriate IS solutions, and maintaining operational workflow documentation. The specialist will provide 24x7 on-call operational support for the team’s application portfolio, manage external IS vendor relations for up to 5-7 business and/or clinical applications, and manage 3-5 small/medium business projects using IS Project Management Methodology. Additionally, the role involves reviewing release notes for system upgrades, providing input for application training materials, and conducting user training sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Relationship Management:
    • Act as the primary IS liaison to business areas.
    • Maintain a strong understanding and documentation of business processes, workflows, and regulatory requirements.
    • Facilitate effective customer engagement through regular meetings, rounding, and participation in IS initiatives.
    • Communicate regarding requirements, enhancements, and priorities.
    • Provide input on application needs for the annual IS strategic planning process.
  • Business Analysis/Solutioning:
    • Understand and document business needs.
    • Recommend appropriate IS solutions, including defining use cases, conducting research and analysis of functional and technical system needs.
    • Perform impact or gap analysis.
    • Actively participate in Workouts and Six Sigma LEAN events.
    • Collaborate with customers to develop solutions.

Requirements:

  • Epic Willow Inpatient Certification preferred.
  • Strongly prefer applicants with a clinical background/knowledge in Pharmacy and/or other clinical environments.
  • Experience with Pharmacy third-party systems is a plus.
  • Applicable Epic Certification(s) for supported applications must be achieved within 6 months of the hire date.
