Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to discern priorities and take initiative
  • Computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Mathematical skills: ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, premiums, commissions, proportions, and percentages
  • Reasoning skills: ability to solve practical problems, interpret a variety of instructions, and deal with variables in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • High School diploma required; Associate Degree or higher preferred
  • Active Property & Casualty License
  • CPCU or special training course completion a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily service on assigned tasks by Producers and/or Account Executives per agency procedures, including account transactions such as quoting and issuing policies, ID cards, proposal endorsements, certificates, claims, renewals, follow-up, and correspondence
  • Respond to client inquiries, incoming mail, and company requests on a timely basis
  • Conduct insurance marketing and sales
  • Collect renewal data on assigned accounts
  • Provide claims support
  • Review new/renewal policies and endorsements to ensure items were received as ordered
  • Maintain accuracy of client data in agency management system
  • Document all activities in agency management system
  • Understand and utilize upload, download, and interface technology
  • Assist other agency departments in securing/providing information for mutual clients to issue appropriate policies
  • Keep Producers informed of important activities on their accounts, including potential problems, and inform management
  • Keep current with industry trends, including participation in educational seminars and classes for insurance/sales skills and license compliance
  • Maintain knowledge of current underwriting requirements of contracted insurance carriers
  • Maintain knowledge of policy provisions and any changes in these provisions
  • Complete other functions and assignments as assigned, including back-up duties
