Candidates must possess a verifiable High School Diploma or GED and have at least 1 year of healthcare insurance-related experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) is required, along with the ability to commute to the Orlando, FL office. Preferred qualifications include insurance billing or collections experience, customer service in a healthcare setting, experience with healthcare reimbursement systems, strong analytical and multitasking skills, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
The Insurance Collections Coordinator will perform third-party follow-up on prescription medication claims via telephone, internet, and written correspondence. This role involves following up on unpaid, recouped, and underpaid claims, resolving payment issues due to insurance problems, and maintaining detailed chronological notes of actions taken. The coordinator will also update patient demographic information, research and respond to insurance companies and governmental payers regarding collection issues, and contact patients and physician offices as needed to expedite claims processing.
