Responsibilities

The Collections Representative will follow up with insurance companies to resolve unpaid claims, researching overdue accounts and contacting carriers or customers on delinquent payments. Responsibilities include reviewing and resubmitting or appealing unpaid and underpaid claims, verifying payment information, coordinating collection activities, and complying with the Fair Debt Collector Practices Act. The representative will also respond to customer inquiries, research accounts, resolve discrepancies, prepare adjustments and refunds, and accurately enter collection activity into the billing system. Additionally, they will bring recurring issues to the supervisor's attention, initiate payments, resubmit bills, and pursue patient payment obligations when insurance defaults, while maintaining punctual attendance and performing other required duties.
