Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of commercial and customer metrics
  • Experience in creating and delivering insight and recommendations to multiple stakeholders at varying levels of the organisation, and the ability to use storytelling capabilities to bring this to life for commercial stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex data insights in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and comfortable talking to leadership teams
  • Expertise in using data handling and visualization tools including Excel, PowerPoint and PowerBI, and some level of familiarity with other data analytics interfaces such as Databricks
  • Be an advanced user of platforms and tools required to do the work i.e. customer insights platform, and experience using market data to support insights (e.g. Kantar, Nielsen)
  • Knowledge of the retail industry and trends, and experience in retail data analysis

Responsibilities

  • Provide visible Insight & Analytics support to assigned commercial categories, enacting clear ways of working and building trust through pace, presence and results
  • Understand category issues and priorities and identify where analytics support is needed in key business processes
  • Seek and implement opportunities for injecting data, analysis and insight into decision making, and support the optimisation of business processes
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across Insight & Analytics and allied functions such as Data Science to deliver insights to inform commercial decision making
  • Adopt templates & frameworks to develop and deliver comprehensive outputs to share insights and recommendations with relevant stakeholders, presenting data-driven insights in a clear and concise manner
  • Produce and present insights, reports/dashboards to visualise any potential bespoke insight requirements as required
  • Mentor, manage and guide Insight Analysts, providing guidance, support and training as required
  • Contribute to the Insight & Analytics community & culture through participation in team meetings and events
