Requirements

Candidates must possess excellent automotive diagnostic skills and experience with GM diagnostic tools such as MDI and GDS. A strong understanding of automotive systems, including electrical, powertrain, and chassis, is essential. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities are required, along with strong analytical and decision-making skills. The ability to work independently, learn quickly, and collaborate within cross-functional teams is necessary. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently within Quebec and Eastern provinces are mandatory. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and fluency in both written and spoken French and English are required. Preferred qualifications include extensive automotive technical experience as a licensed technician, over 5 years of experience as a licensed automotive technician, knowledge of GM service applications (SI, GDS), and experience with electric vehicles.

Responsibilities

The Field Service Engineer will provide on-site dealer support to resolve technical vehicle issues. They will also assist engineering and legal departments by conducting technical and safety investigations, downloading airbag data, and representing GM in legal proceedings as a technical expert. The role involves remote collaboration with the Canadian Field Service Engineering team and cross-functional teams in Canada and the US to diagnose and resolve vehicle problems. The engineer will stay at the forefront of new diagnostic tools and methods.
