Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a generalist HR role, preferably within a business partnering capacity
  • Demonstrated knowledge of New Zealand and Australia employment legislation and HR best practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes within set timeframes
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and accurate HR advice to managers and employees on matters including performance management, disciplinary processes, and employment conditions
  • Support the implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives in alignment with organizational objectives
  • Assist in the resolution of employee relations issues, ensuring adherence to the Employment Relations Act 2000, Holidays Act 2003, Privacy Act 2020, and other relevant legislation
  • Maintain awareness of legislative changes and ensure HR practices remain compliant
  • Support a workplace culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Coordinate recruitment activities including job design, advertising, candidate screening, and selection processes using the applicant tracking system
  • Prepare job offer letters, background checks, and other pre-employment requirements
  • Facilitate onboarding and new hire orientation to ensure a smooth transition for new employees
  • Support the performance review process and assist managers in identifying development needs and opportunities
  • Participate in compensation process by providing market data and other analysis
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of training and development initiatives as needed
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation in accordance with privacy and data protection requirements
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Participate in HR projects and contribute to organizational development initiatives
