Pass post-offer criminal background check
Complete HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance, and security training within first 30 days of hire
Timely completion of other training assignments in EDMS
Timely completion of continuing education units
Experience working with an LIS and Google Suite
Excellent interpersonal, communication, computer, troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

Perform histological preparations for tissue whole exome sequencing laboratory with little to no errors (e.g., preparation of tissues, stained slides, microdissection, supporting workflow tasks)
Follow Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and maintain clean and organized workspace
Recognize and escalate equipment or LIS malfunctions; troubleshoot common errors
Recognize, document, and escalate protocol deviations to lab management
Maintain equipment and instruments in good operating condition
Communicate with team and other departments
Provide feedback on workflow to lab management and offer suggestions/ideas for improvement
Assist teammates in completing daily tasks
Adhere to departmental procedures
Participate in updating and creating Standard Operating Procedures
Assist in administering training and performing competencies of other department personnel
Work with PHI in paper and electronic form and access various technologies to perform job duties
Perform other duties as assigned
