Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Senior marketing leader position within the pharmaceutical industry, having managed a team
  • Experience in Cardiovascular/Diabetes, Antibiotic and/or related pharmaceutical therapeutic areas (advantage)
  • Experience in OTC Products (considered a plus)
  • History of superior territory coverage
  • Knowledge and relationships with key stakeholders in the region (advantage)
  • Knowledge of Private and Public Sector business (advantageous)
  • Established KOL relationships and specialist relationships (advantage)
  • Business planning acumen and ability
  • Computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Compliance with company Code of Conduct
  • Excellent communicator exhibiting integrity, adaptability, and independence
  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Scientific, or Related study

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage marketing objectives for responsible countries
  • Manage marketing/product team and budgets
  • Direct and control all sales support activities such as customer and economic analysis, market testing, advertising, market research, and sales promotion
  • Manage, coordinate, and evaluate short-term marketing plans and budgets
  • Manage a (multiple) product portfolio: expand business, define new markets, lead business development efforts
  • Make recommendations based on analyzed market data and market trends
  • Develop market strategies
  • Discuss and review the sales plan with Product Managers and reach agreement
  • Follow up on the plan and update figures
  • Visit customers to understand market, competitive activities, technologies, product needs, diseases, and treatments with present or future impact on the cardiovascular market
  • Report monthly the status of major strategies, market evolution, and competitive activities to GM and HQ
  • Attend internal and external visitors to build relationships
  • Provide leadership and direction to subordinates
  • Reinforce Abbott culture in business unit
  • Build a strong team by identifying, recruiting, and retaining talent
  • Develop subordinates by coaching, mentoring, and offering training opportunities
  • Motivate staff by giving appropriate reward and recognition to major achievements of key individuals and the team
