Requirements

Candidates must have over 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role at a high-growth technology startup or a proven track record in business development/commercial strategy within aviation, aerospace, or advanced mobility. A history of building businesses from inception in ambiguous environments is essential, along with strong analytical and financial skills to manage a P&L. Policy and regulatory knowledge for scaling operations in the market, and cross-functional ability to collaborate with engineering, operations, and executive leadership are required. The ideal candidate will reside in Asia, preferably Singapore or another key APAC hub, and be willing to travel up to 25% of the year. Fluency in English is mandatory, with additional Asian language skills being a strong advantage. Bonus qualifications include an MBA or advanced STEM degree, experience in aviation or aerospace, launching and scaling a business unit geographically, deep knowledge of and relationships within the APAC region, and prior experience in city or region-level general management at a tech company.

Responsibilities

The General Manager, Asia will develop and execute Archer's APAC go-to-market strategy, aligning with global priorities and focusing on expanding existing engagements. This role involves owning the P&L and all KPIs for the APAC region to achieve growth and profitability goals. Responsibilities include deepening the company's local presence by advancing partnerships, stakeholder relationships, and regulatory discussions. The General Manager will identify and negotiate strategic partnerships with airlines, airport operators, government stakeholders, and infrastructure providers across APAC. They will lead commercial discussions and structure joint ventures, pilot programs, and long-term agreements. Coordination with regulatory and policy teams to support type certification, operational approvals, and airspace integration is crucial. The role also entails representing Archer at key regional events, forums, and with governmental agencies, and working cross-functionally with product, operations, marketing, and legal teams to align commercial strategy with execution. Driving local marketing and demand generation, and monitoring market trends, competitive intelligence, and regional policy developments are also key duties. Additionally, the General Manager will support new team onboarding and future leadership transitions within APAC.
