Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess a J.D. from an accredited law school and be an active member of at least one U.S. state bar, with 10+ years of relevant legal experience, including experience at an AmLaw100 law firm and in-house counsel roles. Strong experience in commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate legal matters is required, along with a proven track record in identifying and solving legal issues and providing strategic advice, particularly in highly regulated industries. Experience navigating healthcare laws and regulations such as the Sunshine Act is also necessary.

Responsibilities

As the General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer, the candidate will oversee day-to-day legal matters, including contracting, healthcare fraud and abuse, regulatory, IP, privacy, and employment matters. They will identify, research, and advise the executive team on a wide range of legal topics, develop and implement an effective Compliance Program, and create policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The role also involves managing external counsel budgets and relationships, supporting HR and employment matters, and developing and coordinating compliance training for all employees.
