Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (required)
  • College Degree in Computer Science or Regulatory Compliance (preferred)
  • 1 year in related field (required)
  • 3 years in food production regulatory compliance (preferred)
  • Licenses/Certifications: Genesis software program; GS1 Labeling compliance; USDA/FDA/CFIA regulatory requirements training; PCQI Certification; HACCP Certification (preferred)
  • Bi-Lingual in Spanish (preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to read dense and complex regulatory documents and communicate findings to nonexperts
  • Understanding of USDA & FDA labeling regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of organizations
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment on regulatory compliance matters
  • Ability to review detailed information for compliance with federal regulations and recommend changes
  • Ability to identify opportunities for new SOPs or revisions
  • Project management skills (scope, tasks, due dates, predecessors)
  • Authorized to work in the US

Responsibilities

  • USDA/FDA Label Review for regulatory compliance
  • Working with product development team for new products
  • Managing customer platforms for food safety compliance
  • Working with label graphic design personnel
  • Development of specification sheets
  • Additional duties as requested
  • Provide guidance and technical leadership on food labeling regulations and new products compliance
  • Ensure adherence to USDA and FDA regulatory labeling for label process integrity
  • Use independent judgement concerning regulations
  • Identify opportunities and make recommendations for new SOPs and/or revisions to existing SOPs
  • Perform project management activities
  • Assist in collection and cataloging of product information for regulatory compliance reviews, product setup, or other activities
  • Work directly with regulatory agencies
  • Design label approval workflow, including customer and government approvals
  • Ensure all product identifications are compliant to avoid Sysco brand recalls due to labeling
