Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in a technical field or 4 years of equivalent experience in system administration, infrastructure engineering, or similar roles is required, with certifications being a plus. The role also requires intermediate level experience in Windows and Linux environments, scripting (PowerShell, Python) or coding (e.g., .Net), database management (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server), and intermediate level experience with Amazon Web Services and containerization technologies including Kubernetes. Candidates must possess the ability to think clearly and take decisive action, demonstrate a passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement, and have exceptional communication skills to drive, influence, and inspire cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

The Frontline Engineer will act as the first line of defense for incidents by performing initial troubleshooting and triage tasks, escalating incidents when necessary. They will lead incident management by commanding cross-functional teams of responders and driving continuous improvement to ensure high standards of reliability and performance, participating in an on-call rotation with expected off-hours work. The role involves being a trusted advisor for problem management by collaborating with engineering teams to identify durable fixes and workarounds for major incidents. Additionally, the engineer will drive business-critical outcomes by measuring key performance metrics like SLAs and MTBF to identify trends and their business impact, refine and document operational processes including runbooks, and build a collaborative culture by fostering strong relationships within the team and across departments.
