Requirements

Candidates should have 5+ years of recruiting experience, ideally with in-house experience as the first recruiter at an early-stage startup. Proven success in hiring top-tier talent across all functions, especially highly technical AI/ML roles, is essential. The ideal candidate is a builder who has created recruiting systems/processes from scratch or significantly improved existing ones, possesses exceptional communication and candidate experience instincts, and is highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in ambiguity. A passion for AI and the opportunity to shape a team working at the edge of what's possible is also required. Bonus qualifications include experience hiring in ML/AI-heavy companies or deep tech startups, experience building out roles/processes in Ashby, and playing Portal 1 and 2.

Responsibilities

The Founding Recruiter will own end-to-end recruiting across all functions, including engineering, GTM, and operations. They will build the recruiting infrastructure from the ground up, encompassing tools, processes, candidate experience, and data tracking. Responsibilities include crafting compelling job descriptions and outbound messaging to attract top talent, partnering closely with founders and hiring managers to define role requirements, interview processes, and closing strategies, and sourcing exceptional candidates through outbound efforts and creative channels. The role also involves championing inclusive hiring best practices, building and nurturing a talent pipeline for future roles, and taking the lead on People Operations tasks such as generating offers, onboarding new hires, and handling visa logistics.
