Effectively direct and supervise all activities of the deli/food service department and its personnel
Meet department’s goals and objectives related to merchandising, sales, and customer service
Communicate directly with store management and department supervisors
Select, onboard, and coach all new team members
Schedule all team members
Smile and greet customers
Offer product information
Provide selling suggestions
Conduct active sampling
Express genuine gratitude
Take customer orders and ensure timely and satisfactory completion
Ensure department personnel follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Order products and supplies, maintain adequate stock levels, and monitor merchandising standards
Oversee the preparation and serving/merchandising of deli/food service items (breakfast, lunch, dinner entrees, fried foods, pizzas, prepared salads, soups, sandwiches, roller grill items, hot and cold beverages, and snack items)
Display deli/food service items according to department and company guidelines
Follow product recipes without deviation
Rotate deli/food service items for sale, ensuring quality, safety, and shrink control
Receive merchandise, audit invoices, break down orders, and position product cases
