Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience in B2B sales, with a focus on mid-market and/or enterprise customers
  • Experience with fleet electrification, transportation, or energy industries (preferred)
  • Experience with state and local government sales and associated contracting processes (preferred)
  • Demonstrated success in complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
  • Highly motivated, gritty, self-starter with the ability to operate in a dynamic white space environment and work through roadblocks (a hunter, not a farmer)
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong business acumen and consultative sales approach
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-driven startup environment
  • Proficiency using Salesforce or other CRM systems
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel (up to 50%)
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods

Responsibilities

  • Develop new leads, while also calling on existing contacts and targeted new accounts
  • Represent Slate externally at events, conferences, and expos
  • Manage a pipeline from qualification to pre-sales, close, and renewal
  • Build long-term relationships with customers and partners
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Retail Sales, Marketing, Digital, and Engineering
  • Identify, engage, and close pre-sales and sales with mid-market, enterprise, and government customers
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to fleet managers, procurement leaders, and sustainability officers, guiding them through the transition to electric vehicles with Slate’s vehicle, accessories, and related fleet solutions
