Requirements

  • Experience managing maintenance, repair, and operations for facilities, fleet, grounds, refrigeration systems, beverage department, power industrial equipment, and security
  • Knowledge of government regulations, compliance (e.g., food safety, DOT, EPSM, PSM), safety standards, and emergency response/crisis management
  • Skills in budget preparation, expense management, profit plans, capital requests, and cost reduction measures
  • Ability to manage labor hours, consumables, work schedules, and staff (including extra shifts)
  • Proficiency in maintenance tracking software, audits, inspections, and documentation
  • Capability to develop business relationships with third-party vendors (e.g., janitorial, pest, security, contractors) and maintain certificates of insurance/hold harmless agreements
  • Experience establishing and overseeing preventative maintenance schedules for systems like ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, fire protection, security, electrical, dock equipment, and building components
  • Strong leadership in associate management, training, communication, morale monitoring, policy enforcement, and collaboration with other departments/safety teams

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily work and safety of associates in building, grounds, sanitation, fleet maintenance, repair, refrigeration, beverage, power industrial equipment, and security
  • Handle labor hours and consumable supplies within budget
  • Prepare work schedules, including extra work days and shifts
  • Coordinate emergency response/crisis management, liaise with local emergency entities, and assist Safety Manager with training
  • Administer selection, purchase, utilization, and inventory of company assets for fleet and facilities
  • Collaborate with other departments for efficient upgrades and repairs
  • Develop relationships with third-party vendors for communication and operations
  • Maintain certificates of insurance and hold harmless agreements for vendors
  • Prepare budgets, profit plans, and capital requests
  • Evaluate metrics and adjust activities to meet/exceed performance expectations
  • Suggest efficiency ideas, cost reductions, and implement changes in fleet/facility maintenance, beverage, equipment, and security
  • Establish preventative maintenance schedules for all systems, equipment, and buildings
  • Oversee, assign, and monitor fleet and facility projects for quality and timely completion
  • Utilize maintenance tracking software for task management
  • Conduct audits to ensure inspections and documentation (e.g., food safety, DOT, EPSM, PSM) are completed and retained
  • Preserve associate relations through meetings, communication, morale monitoring, and idea submission/response
  • Train and enforce company policies/procedures
  • Organize with Safety department for training, observations, work methods, accident investigations, and inspections
