Candidates must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent qualification. A minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on technical experience in installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating sophisticated analytical instruments, such as SEM, TEM, FIB, XPS, or MRI, is preferred, and recent graduates or engineers with 5+ years of field experience will also be considered. Knowledge of Electron Microscopes is an advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity are required. IT literacy, including TCP/IP networking, is also necessary.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will perform field service activities including on-site installation, upgrades, preventive maintenance, and system repairs. You will solve hardware and software problems of varying complexity, coordinate your work schedule, instruct customers in instrument usage, provide proactive technical support via telephone and email, produce service reports and expense reports, assure customer satisfaction, provide sales leads to account managers, and provide feedback to support teams for documentation updates.
