Federal Account Executive

Position Overview

Confluent is revolutionizing data movement and empowering organizations to leverage data in near real-time. We are seeking a driven Federal Account Executive to join our Sales Team, focusing on selling Confluent solutions to civilian government agencies. This role requires a proactive and skilled sales professional who can drive revenue growth, build strong customer relationships, and exceed sales targets within a value-driven sales model.

Responsibilities

• Drive revenue growth within large, complex, and highly visible accounts in the Federal Civilian Agencies segment.
• Proactively prospect, identify, qualify, develop, and close new sales opportunities.
• Continue to grow consumption within existing customer accounts.
• Lead, drive, and execute complex sales cycles, effectively demonstrating the business value of Confluent solutions to C-level executives.
• Develop in-depth expertise on Confluent offerings, product suites, and the competitive landscape.
• Build deep understanding of customer strategies and business goals to act as a trusted advisor.
• Collaborate with partner ecosystem teams for joint sales efforts.
• Work closely with Solutions Engineering, Professional Services, and Customer Success Management teams to ensure customer success, identify expansion opportunities, and secure renewals.

Requirements

• 8+ years of quota-carrying sales experience in a competitive market, with a focus on growing consumption within accounts/territories.
• Prior experience in Big Data, Consumption, Cloud, SaaS, Open Source, or Enterprise IT Solutions.
• Experience with sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDPICC, Challenger).
• Proven ability to lead and execute complex sales strategies to drive revenue growth.
• Consistent track record of success and overachievement in hitting sales quotas.
• Ability to articulate and sell business value to organizations of all sizes.
• Experience in developing and improving processes and managing organizational change.
• Exceptional skills in relationship-building, customer relations, and negotiation.
• Open to travel to customer locations as needed.
• BS/BA degree or equivalent preferred.
