Adheres to FMCNA Compliance Program, regulatory requirements, and FMS policies
Follows policies and procedures related to Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Hazard Material Identification System (HMIS) for chemicals and solutions
Ability to perform physical tasks, including cleaning, lifting heavy objects, moving equipment, and basic repairs (e.g., painting, changing bulbs, tending to clogged drains)
Knowledge of proper waste disposal (regular, biohazard, recyclables) per facility policies
Ability to handle, label, dilute, and document disinfectants
Capable of performing water quality testing, calibrating meters, preparing solutions (bicarbonate, Granuflo), and operating RO/SDS systems per written procedures
Ability to document activities, testing results, and logs accurately
Reports maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, clogs) and supply needs timely to supervisor

Responsibilities

Maintain overall cleanliness and hygiene of the facility and physical plant, providing a clean, hygienic, pleasant environment
Clean and disinfect all areas, especially patient/visitor areas, immediately after spills; clean equipment, TVs, computers, HVAC vents, furniture
Empty and dispose of waste (regular, biohazard, recyclables) properly
Clean bathrooms, kitchens, waiting areas, break rooms, conference rooms, offices, treatment areas, storage/water treatment rooms, and exterior areas (porches, parking)
Clean sinks, countertops, toilets, floors, mirrors, doors, walls; sweep, wash, wax, vacuum floors
Maintain and organize cleaning supply area; obtain supplies, ensure adequate quantities, report needs to supervisor
Stock hygienic materials (soap, sanitizer, paper towels, etc.) in pertinent areas
Document, handle, label, and dilute disinfectants; clean dialysis prep areas and stations post-treatment
Wash interior windows as needed
Perform inventory: receive, handle, stock, count supplies; transfer supplies to/from locations
Perform basic physical plant repairs/maintenance (painting, bulbs, tiles, locks, shelving, drains)
Assist technical/nursing staff with moving equipment, lifting/carrying heavy items
Initiate RO machine, perform initial water quality testing, and document on logs
Initiate SDS system, document activities and quality control testing on logs
Perform total chlorine testing with charge nurse, document results
Calibrate water quality and bicarbonate testing meters
Prepare bicarbonate and Granuflo solutions, document preparation, transfer, and testing
Perform SDS system shutdown, daily rinse, weekly bleach disinfect; document on logs
Other duties as assigned
