Candidates must have experience as a Sales Engineer or Pre-Sales Engineer, with at least 3 years of experience selling into Enterprise and Mid Market prospects. Experience with MEDDPICC and/or Command of the Message sales frameworks is required, along with expertise in container technologies (Kubernetes, Serverless, Docker), cloud technology (AWS, Azure, Google), cloud security or container security, and application security. Startup experience and security clearance are also required.
The Enterprise Sales Engineer will assess prospect technical requirements and apply knowledge of Chainguard products to demonstrate how solutions meet client needs. Responsibilities include cultivating relationships with decision-makers, negotiating competing stakeholder needs, securing technical wins through demos, RFP/RFI responses, and lead POVs. The role involves partnering with the Sales Team to help customers evaluate and prove solution value, focusing on acquiring new customer logos and growing the existing customer base, and owning all technical aspects of sales opportunities. Daily tasks include listening to customer challenges, conducting product demonstrations and POVs/POCs, and actively participating in webinars, meetups, conferences, and other marketing initiatives.
