Requirements

Candidates must have experience as a Sales Engineer or Pre-Sales Engineer, with experience in MEDDPICC and/or Command of the Message sales frameworks. They should also have at least 3 years of experience selling into Enterprise and Mid Market prospects, with expertise in container technologies (Kubernetes, Serverless, Docker), cloud technology (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.), cloud security or container security, and application security. Startup experience is preferred. The ideal candidate is a smart, passionate, and persevering individual who acts as a trusted advisor, builds credibility with customers, and is a strong team player. German and English language proficiency is required, and the role must be located in Germany.

Responsibilities

The Enterprise Sales Engineer will assess prospect technical requirements and leverage extensive knowledge of Chainguard products to demonstrate how the solution meets client needs. They will cultivate relationships with decision-makers at all organizational levels and negotiate competing stakeholder needs. Responsibilities include securing technical wins through demos, RFP/RFI responses, and lead POVs, partnering with engineering for feature requests, and participating in conferences and industry events. The role involves partnering with the Sales Team to help customers evaluate and prove the value of Chainguard's solution, focusing on acquiring new customer logos and growing the existing customer base. The Sales Engineer will own all technical aspects of sales opportunities and assist current customers in understanding the value of Chainguard. Day-to-day tasks include listening to customer challenges, conducting product demonstrations and POVs/POCs, and actively participating in webinars, meetups, conferences, and other marketing initiatives.
