Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Operations Lead to be a pivotal force in optimizing our engineering organization. In our lean engineering team, this role is designed to be the central driver for proactive management of our engineering landscape, operational excellence, and process refinement. You will partner closely with engineering leadership and Product Ops to take ownership of key operational domains, ensuring our teams are efficient, data-driven, and focused on the right priorities. If you are passionate about streamlining workflows, identifying systemic improvements, and enabling engineering teams to deliver their best work, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

As our Engineering Operations Lead, you will:

  • Champion foundational engineering roadmaps: Champion the planning, prioritization, and execution of critical foundational engineering roadmaps, including security, compliance, customer commitments, and tooling improvements.
  • Drive data-driven decision making: Define key metrics, monitor engineering team performance and product/platform health, and use data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Enhance developer tooling & cost efficiency: Continuously seek opportunities to improve developer tooling, reduce operational costs across engineering teams, and optimize infrastructure spend.
  • Vendor management: Oversee the full lifecycle of engineering-related vendor relationships, including procurement, account ownership, feature adoption, and budget management.
  • Technical and security stewardship: Proactively identify, prioritize, and de-risk technical debt, operational inefficiencies, and security vulnerabilities, championing upgrades and serving as the security liaison.
  • Optimize engineering processes & strategic planning: Partner closely with engineering leadership and Product Ops on the continuous refinement of engineering processes and workflows as well as planning to ensure the right work gets done at the right time by the right people.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: Minimum of 6+ years of experience in Engineering Operations, Technical Program Management, Engineering, Product Management or similar roles focused on improving the engineering landscape.
  • Proven experience: Demonstrated success in an Engineering Operations, Program Management, or similar role focused on improving engineering efficiency, processes, and foundational systems.
  • Systems thinking: Ability to understand complex technical landscapes and identify interconnected problems, leading to holistic and scalable solutions.
  • Operational excellence mindset: A strong passion for identifying inefficiencies and implementing practical, impactful improvements.
  • Data-driven approach: Experience defining metrics, analyzing data, and using insights to drive decision-making and measure success.
