Requirements

At least 4 years of experience leading multi-disciplinary Agile development teams, preferably in a product company
Banking, payments and SaaS experience is a plus
High energy team player, always constructive
Passionate about software development and delivery
Gets a kick when the development team exceeds expectations

Responsibilities

Lead a best-in-class, cross-functional team of software engineers (up to 3 development teams)
Define and promote the team's ways of working, hiring, and training strategies
Ensure a balanced development team that delivers on promises, with high performance, clear product plan, and software meeting customer expectations including non-functionals (security, performance, maintainability, reliability)
Drive the team to get feedback from stakeholders across Backbase and take action where needed
Help the team set strategic direction and facilitate reaching goals
Work with value stream leadership team, product managers, domain architects, and other stakeholders to contribute to product delivery
Foster an environment for improving soft and strong engineering skills in team members
Create conditions for teams to deliver high-quality features aligned with customer expectations and Backbase values
Manage team setup, competences, and energized team dynamics
Surface and solve anti-patterns or dysfunctions impacting team performance
Own delivery commitments and ensure teams deliver what is promised
Keep key technology stakeholders involved and informed
Protect and support the team to meet quality standards
Collaborate with Product Owners to set realistic commitments using Lean Agile Development Principles
Ensure software is released with minimal effort and no production issues (or address if not)
Balance software development lifecycle aspects: non-functional requirements, automated releases, quality, coding standards, automation, integration testing, release acceptance validation, security, infrastructure, and product domain details
Build strong craftsmanship and effective processes to optimize quality, predictability, and output
Promote decompressing, social cohesion, and celebrating milestones at individual and team levels
