Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading teams focused on platform, infrastructure, or reliability
  • Proven track record of driving platform and developer experience initiatives that improve productivity, reliability, and system scalability
  • Comfortable working across cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar), CI/CD systems, and monitoring/observability tools
  • Familiar with modern AI technologies and infrastructure patterns, and understand how to build systems that scale with AI-driven product features
  • Care about the developer experience as much as the end user experience
  • Bring structure and calm to complex systems and operational challenges
  • Experience leading or collaborating on incident response, reliability reviews, and capacity planning
  • Skilled at managing remote engineers across time zones and fostering strong communication and collaboration
  • Value mentorship and creating an environment of psychological safety and growth

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow an infrastructure team of 3–5 engineers focused on SRE and DevX initiatives
  • Drive reliability, observability, and performance across Maze’s services and infrastructure
  • Design and evolve internal tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure that enable product teams to move fast and safely
  • Prepare infrastructure and tooling to support AI/ML workloads at scale, ensuring reliable performance and cost efficiency as AI usage grows
  • Support engineers through coaching, mentorship, and clear career development paths
  • Lead and support a team of engineers focused on building and scaling the platform that powers Maze’s product teams
  • Partner with peers in engineering leadership to define technical strategy and drive initiatives that improve reliability, scalability, and developer experience
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Product and Engineering to ensure infrastructure, tooling, and processes enable teams to deliver efficiently and confidently
  • Bring a thoughtful, people-first approach to performance, feedback, and development conversations
  • Own incident management processes, including on-call rotations, post-incident reviews, and continuous improvement of system reliability and MTTR
  • Hire, mentor, and develop high-performing engineers who are excited about the intersection of infrastructure and AI
  • Balance technical excellence with pragmatic delivery in a high growth, remote environment
