Requirements

  • Hands-on, highly collaborative, analytical, and data-driven HR professional experience
  • Expertise in employee relations programs, policies, procedures, conflict resolution, workplace investigations, and policy interpretation
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including updates and changes
  • Subject matter expertise in compliance areas such as drug and alcohol testing, I-9/E-Verify, immigration laws, OSHA, workers’ compensation, Fair Credit Reporting Act, criminal background inquiries, EEO reporting, employee records/privacy, leave/accommodation laws, separation/termination laws, and labor/union compliance
  • Ability to lead and influence employees across the organization directly or indirectly
  • Proficiency in monitoring turnover, exit interviews, engagement scores, and employment trends
  • Skills in drafting policies, conducting investigations, and managing HR audits
  • Experience with EthicsPoint hotline administration and coordinating with legal departments

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement employee relations strategies, programs, policies, and procedures to foster positive relationships, productive work environment, and compliance
  • Collaborate with Westlake Legal department on employee relations matters, investigations, and employment law compliance; advise management accordingly
  • Serve as primary point of contact for conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and guidance to employees and management aligned with company values and HR policies
  • Monitor turnover reasons, exit interview data, engagement scores; proactively identify issues and make recommendations
  • Implement and standardize processes, monitor trends, optimize efficiency, and identify improvement areas
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and employment laws to ensure compliance and promote positive culture
  • Guide HR team on policies, procedures, employment practices, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, ADA/FMLA, return-to-work protocols
  • Manage HR policies/practices governance, conduct policy reviews, draft compliant policies, and assist with HR policy integration post-acquisitions
  • Oversee EthicsPoint hotline cases, complex investigations, and review investigation accuracy/completeness
  • Coordinate responses to employment-related complaints with HR leadership, legal department, and external counsel
  • Provide coaching and training to managers and HR on employee relations, conflict resolution, corrective actions, and performance accountability
  • Develop and deliver employee relations training programs for HR and managers
  • Partner with HR leadership to develop and implement periodic HR audit plans, evaluate policies/procedures/practices, and provide roadmaps for changes
