Requirements

  • British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship (security clearance requirements)
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with an Electronics bias
  • Significant experience in digital electronics and microprocessor systems
  • Significant experience in power electronics for distributed power networks
  • Experience in design of equipment for safety critical environments
  • Experience in design of equipment for handling sensitive customer data
  • Understanding of software and firmware development techniques
  • Experience in compact packaging and thermal management techniques for complex high-performance electronic equipment
  • Beneficial: Knowledge of internal computing design covering System on Chip technologies, RF, Signal Processing, and Software Defined Radio
  • Beneficial: Experience in EMC and Environmental design
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with stakeholders and customers
  • Strong influencing skills and leadership qualities
  • Comprehensive understanding of customers' requirements
  • Drive, proactivity, ability to make decisions, and adapt in a constantly evolving environment

Responsibilities

  • Define the electronic and electrical architecture of the equipment
  • Conduct analysis and decomposition to lower-level requirements for sub-elements
  • Ensure challenging customer requirements are met within constraints of limited physical space and harsh operating environments
  • Manage all technical elements of Electronic Equipment in collaboration with the Engineering Project Manager
  • Ensure 'On Time, On Cost, On Quality' delivery of the technical solution
  • Actively participate in research and development activities
  • Shape future strategies and roadmaps for Electronic Products and solutions
