Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience managing marketplace businesses such as Rakuten and Amazon
  • Proficient in Rakuten Merchant Server and Amazon Seller/Vendor Central
  • Proven track record in key eCommerce functions: merchandising, sales forecasting, KPI tracking, advertising, and customer service
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Collaborative team leader with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments
  • Fluent in Japanese; proficient in written business English (able to create documents in English)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
  • Experience in global companies, consumer electronics, or major eCommerce platforms (Amazon, Rakuten, Yahoo!) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Play a key leadership role in shaping and executing the overall eCommerce strategy
  • Lead the eCommerce business to achieve revenue and margin goals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with marketplace partners to develop mutually beneficial solutions that support growth and brand equity
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Retail Sales, Product, Operations) to optimize product assortment, segmentation, pricing, and promotional strategies
  • Partner with the Digital Marketing team to plan and optimize advertising campaigns both on and off the eCommerce platforms
  • Ensure a seamless customer experience through effective operational execution, including product launches, content management in coordination with eCommerce Operations, Content Production, and Customer Support
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing or emerging marketplaces
