Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain remote terminal units (RTUs)
  • Manage Distribution Electric Grid devices as green energy resources are integrated
  • Work independently or as part of a team on SCADA system-related assignments
  • Program and troubleshoot machine language, firmware, software, and protocols for SCADA equipment (RTUs, data concentrators, HMIs, communication systems, servers, applications, etc.)
  • Create and update configuration and drawing files for SCADA systems (circuit breakers, reclosers, line sensors, smart switches, feeder metering, alarm dialers, IEDs)
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic equipment
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and documentation
  • Operate various electrical and electronic instruments for testing and calibration (voltmeters, ammeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Identify and analyze communication systems
  • Provide input to reports, drawings, and logs
  • Obtain clearance for work on critical operating equipment
  • Compliance and maintenance of Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) systems
